Yusuf Z. Menceloğlu, Sabancı Üniversitesi Malzeme Bilimi ve NanoMühendislik programı öğretim üyesidir. Prof. Menceloğlu, 1983 yılında Kimya alanında Lisans derecesini Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesinde tamamladı. Yüksek Lisans ve Doktora çalışmalarını İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Polimer Bilimi dalında sırasıyla 1987 ve 1991'de tamamlamıştır. 1988-1994 yılları arasında Tokyo Teknoloji Enstitüsü ve North Carolina Üniversitesinde misafir bilim insanı olarak çalışmış ve Sabancı Üniversitesi'ne katılmadan önce altı yıl endüstride  teknik genel müdür yardımcısı pozisyonunda görev yapmıştır.

Dr. Menceloğlu, 1984'ten beri polimer bilim ve teknolojisi alanında, 1991'den beri nanoscience ve nanoteknoloji konularında çalışmaktadır. Dr. Menceloğlu’nun polimer ve nanoboyutta malzemeler konusunda 130'den fazla hakemli dergilerde makalenin, bir çok kitap bölümünün yazarı veya ortak yazarıdır bunun yanı sıra Derwent Innovations Index’te listelen 22 patentin buluşçuları arasındadır. Dr Menceloğlu, sıvı / süperkritik karbon dioksitte polimerler, kompozitler ve reaksiyonlar / prosesler konusunda çeşitli araştırma deneyimlerine sahiptir. Menceloğlu, polimerik malzemeler, polimer bilimi ve tekstil elyafları  dersleri vermektedir. Teknoloji tabanlı başlangıç ​​şirketlerinin kurucusu ve ortağıdır.
