OBJECTIVES AND SPECIFICATIONS:
– Multicolor fluorescence imaging can be performed without spectral crosstalk to analyze sub-cellular molecules or organelles in fixed and living cells, in 3D reconstructed organoids or in 3D printed cellular tissues.
– Biological molecules, such as proteins and their molecular interactions can be measured on a nanometer scale.

AREAS OF IMPACT AND APPLICATIONS:
– Optical imaging of immune system cells
– Analysis of cancer cell lines

Plant physiology studies for agricultural applications:
– Investigations of drought-resistant plants
– Biodiesel and energy research

– Carl-Zeiss LSM 710 Confocal Microscope (with UV laser and 458, 488, 514, 561, 633 nm laser units)
– Carl-Zeiss Live Cell Imaging Microscope Axio Observer. Z1 with CO2 and heated chamber temperature control, Illuminator HXP 120 V, a Colibri7 LED light source and an Axiocam503 camera for excitation and emission of multiple fluorescent wavelengths.
