Within the scope of the LignoNANO Platform APYK 2.1 Project, an innovative automotive component prototype has been developed by integrating flexible conductive mat technology derived from bio-based lignin derivatives with an electronic circuit board and injection-moulded plastic components.
Developed through the collaboration of SUNUM, Karel Elektronik, Karel Kalıp and Renault, the prototype offers a lightweight, sustainable and scalable alternative to conventional wiring systems.
The technology is intended for a wide range of applications, including in-vehicle lighting systems, smart surfaces, sensor-integrated plastic components and human–machine interfaces.
In the next phase, following vehicle-level validation and testing by Renault, efforts towards product development and commercialisation will continue.
