On September 17, 2025, LignoNANO Platform Members gathered at the Koruma Companies Group Facilities during a visit organized as part of the “Value-Added Product Development from Lignocellulosic Biomass” project.

Hosted by Vefa İbrahim Aracı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Koruma Group of Companies, the meeting was attended by SUNUM Director Prof. Alpagut Kara, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Koruma Group of Companies Şükrü Kemal Aracı, and researchers and project partners from other institutions and organizations involved in the Platform. The meeting included presentations on lignin-focused studies, which are the theme of the LignoNANO project, and discussed new project and collaboration opportunities in line with strategic goals. In addition, future R&D investment plans, new projects, patents, and lignin-focused areas of joint work were evaluated.

Led by SUNUM, the TÜBİTAK 1004-supported LignoNANO Platform aims to develop value-added advanced nanotechnological materials and systems for a sustainable circular economy. LignoNANO brings together a total of 29 institutions/organizations, including 4 public research centers (2 of which are consultants/service providers), 20 private sector organizations (4 of which are consultants/service providers), and 5 universities, with approximately 150 researchers.

The LignoNANO Platform, one of our country's leading pre-competitive platforms, consists of 6 themes and 11 projects, with a total of 29 final products, 28 by-products, and 29 intermediate products expected to be produced over 4 years.
