The LignoNANO Platform, the second platform supported by TÜBİTAK 1004 and led by SUNUM, aims to develop advanced nanotechnological materials and systems with added value for a sustainable circular economy. In line with this aim, not only scientific but also high social impact studies are being implemented.
As part of the Social Impact Project, caricatures specially designed for the Research Programs of the LignoNANO Platform were published. These original drawings, which aim to increase scientific awareness in society, convey concepts related to lignin and nanotechnology in an understandable language.
The process, which began in 2024 by providing comprehensive information to the illustrator about the projects, continued with the sharing of the first drafts with the researchers. The researchers checked whether the drawings conveyed the idea of the project and indicated the parts that should be highlighted. After the necessary arrangements were made, they were made ready to be exhibited at the 2nd LignoNANO Workshop held last January.
Taking advantage of the aesthetic power of art and the positive communication language of humor, the caricatures appeal to a wide segment of society by associating scientific research with daily life. In this way, the LignoNANO Platform stands out not only with its advanced technological solutions but also with its creative communication tools.
