SUNUM researcher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kemal Bayazıt's research article titled “A Diameter Selective Fullerene-Mediated Supramolecular Self-Assembly Motif for Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Enrichment” has been published in Carbon.
This study introduces a previously overlooked approach to the diameter-selective enrichment of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). While conventional methods rely on interactions with the outer surface of the nanotubes (exohedral), this research achieves diameter-selective separation for the first time by exploiting the nanotubes' inner cavities (endohedral). The developed method effectively isolates SWCNTs within the 1.4–1.7 nm diameter range. As a result, it opens up a new avenue in nanotube enrichment both in terms of methodology and practical application.
