SUNUM Director Prof. Dr. Alpagut Kara presented TEAM-NANO at an event titled “Frontiers in Flexible Electronics” organized by the Flexible Electronics Branch of the China Electronics Institute on August 4-6, 2025, in Nanjing, China.
As a invited speaker at the event, Kara explained to international scientists that the TEAM-NANO project aims to modernize SUNUM, Turkey's Center of Excellence, by establishing partnerships with the University of Southampton (UoS) and TU Delft. He shared that this collaboration will strengthen SUNUM's technical, managerial, and research capacities, establish long-term partnerships, encourage innovation in the Turkish R&D ecosystem, and contribute to research advances at the regional and European levels. Alpagut Kara also provided information about SUNUM and Sabancı University in his talk.
During the event, SUNUM researchers presented their work online on the following topics:
- Anjum Qureshi, Advanced Flexible Electronics and Biosensing Technologies: Strategies for Diagnostics and Environmental Monitoring Applications
- Javed H. Niazi Kolkar, Engineered Magnetic Quantum Dot Nanoprobes for the Point-of-Care Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease
- Muhammad Umar, Developing highly efficient, flexible, and wearable electronic devices by integrating patterned 1D and 2D nanomaterials into polymeric materials
During Prof. Dr. Alpagut Kara's visit to China, an MoU was signed between Nanjing Tech University, School of Flexible Electronics (Future Technologies) and SUNUM. Within the scope of this agreement, the two institutions aim to strengthen, encourage, and develop cooperation in the field of research. The goals include joint research, exchange of ideas, information, and materials, and cooperation in areas such as visiting researchers.
