On 30 June 2026, we hosted students from Sakıp Sabancı Anatolian High School at SUNUM as part of the TÜBİTAK 2204-A High School Students Research Projects Competition. SUNUM researchers Dr. Hande Cıngıl Tan and Dr. Nihal Öztolan Erol, who are providing mentorship for the project, introduced the laboratory work to be carried out in their respective fields and provided the students with an overview of SUNUM’s research infrastructure and activities.
SUNUM researchers explained the laboratory work to be carried out in their respective areas of expertise while providing the students with an overview of SUNUM’s research infrastructure and activities.
Coordinated by teachers Nevin Karkı, Hakan Kunt, and Yasemin Doğan, the interdisciplinary project brings together the fields of physics, chemistry, and biology. It focuses on agricultural sustainability by developing environmentally friendly solutions that aim to reduce carbon and water footprints while increasing food production.
The 6 high school students receiving mentorship support will come to SUNUM's laboratories to carry out their experimental work, analyze the results they obtain, and submit the report they prepare to TÜBİTAK in the fields of Chemistry and Biology as part of the competition. We will continue to support young scientists.
