SUNUM Project Researcher Dr. Hediyeh Malekzadsani Nobar’s project titled ‘‘Development of High-Aspect-Ratio 3D Interdigitated Bipolar Membranes for High Performance Electrolyzers and Fuel Cells’’ with SUNUM Part Time Researchers Prof. Selmiye Alkan Gürsel and Assoc. Prof. Alp Yürüm as project advisors, has been supported under the 3501- Career Development Program.
The Project aims to develop innovative 3D bipolar membranes (BPMs) specifically engineered for next-generation energy conversion applications such as water electrolysis for green hydrogen production and hydrogen fuel cells. The interdigitated structure, composed of high aspect ratio nanostructures, is designed to enhance ion transport while significantly reducing the overpotential associated with water reactions. These BPMs are expected to outperform conventional flat membranes and contribute directly to Türkiye’s national hydrogen strategy and broader sustainable energy goals.
Congratulations to our researcher, and we wish her success in her project.
