SUNUM Director Prof. Dr. Fazilet Vardar Sukan attended the Closing Workshop of the Added Value with Innovative Production: YAY-YÜKA Platform Project, supported by the Istanbul Development Agency within the scope of the Innovative Istanbul Financial Support Program. In the workshop held at Marmara University on Thursday, July 27, 2023, Prof. Dr. Fazilet Vardar Sukan made a presentation entitled "Using New / Critical Technologies in Businesses and Benefitting from R&D / Innovation Support Mechanisms". In her presentation, Prof. Dr. Vardar Sukan discussed two mutually supportive field studies and two reports prepared within the scope of the project.
Prof. Dr. Fazilet Vardar Sukan gave information about the contents of the research on Current Situation and Future Expectations in the Use of New Critical Technologies in Businesses, and R&D and Innovation Support Mechanisms: Current Situation Analysis and Policy Recommendations in addition to the results of the reports. Talking about the national target, Prof. Dr. Vardar Sukan stated that, with the current research, their conclusions involve "our country's industry internalizing new/critical technologies, renewing its existing production processes, expanding product ranges, and increasing export share with high value-added technology products", adding that they identified internal and design-related problems as a significant obstacle for companies to access R&D funds. She stated that with this research, they concluded that public policies and support mechanisms should be reviewed and restructured together with all relevant actors, or that the necessary control processes should be improved.
