About Prof. Mustafa M. Demir

Mustafa M. Demir received his BS from Chemistry Department of Boğaziçi University, Turkey in 1999, and his MS and Ph.D. studies in Materials Sciences and Engineering Programme at Sabancı University, in 2001 and 2004. He completed his post doc from Max Planck Polymer Research Institute in Mainz, Germany. Since 2007, he is serving as Professor at Izmir Institute of Technology, Turkey. He is Dean of the Engineering Faculty of the Institute where wide interdisciplinary education and research served. Prof. Demir has over 110 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His main research interests are nanostructured materials, polymer-based nanomaterials and polymers in geothermal energy applications. He has been awarded the “Young researcher” Prize of Turkish Academy of Sciences in 2013.  Prof. Demir has been listed in the world's top 2% of researchers published by Elsevier and Stanford University.
