About Dr. Emrah Alkaya

Dr Emrah Alkaya, one of the founding members of the Climate Research Association, has undertaken senior positions in the finance and consultancy sectors in his 15-year professional career and has undertaken many projects in areas such as resource efficiency, supply chain sustainability, industrial symbiosis and circular economy.

Starting his career as a project assistant in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Middle East Technical University, Alkaya took part in various positions within the Turkish Technology Development Foundation (TTGV) between 2008 and 2016, contributing to the execution of R&D, financing and consultancy programs. He joined GTE in 2016 and still coordinates sustainability consultancy, R&D projects and circular economy services as a company partner and managing director. He also served as a consultant in the Climate Resilient Industries division of the World Bank’s Finance Competitiveness and Innovation (FCI) unit between 2018-2019.

He has authored numerous publications, including international peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and papers. He holds BS, MS and PhD degrees in Environmental Engineering from METU.
