About Assoc. Prof. Dr. Caner Ünlü

Caner Ünlü received his BSc degree in Chemistry from İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University in 2006. He obtained his master's degree in Chemistry from Izmir Institute of Technology in 2009 and then completed his PhD in Biophysics from Wageningen University, the Netherlands in 2015. After receiving his PhD, Caner Ünlü worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bordeaux, France until 2017. In 2017, he started to work as Assoc. Prof. Dr. at Istanbul Technical University, Department of Chemistry. Caner Ünlü worked on the synthesis and characterization of quantum dots in his master's studies, and in his PhD thesis he was interested in the biophysical aspects of photosynthesis through time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy. In his postdoctoral work, he observed nano-sized protein aggregations by super-resolution fluorescence microscopy. Currently, he is working on the development of metal-organic lattice systems and composite quantum dots to enhance the photosynthetic capacity of single-celled photosynthetic organisms.
