Prof. Güden, born in Polatlı in 1967, is a graduate of Polatlı Industrial Vocational High School (Electrics) in 1984. He got Bachelor's Degree from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at Middle East Technical University in 1992 and Master's Degree in 1998. He received his PhD from the Department of Material Science and Engineering at the University of Delaware in 1998. Prof. Güden, an academic at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH), was a visiting researcher at the University of Delaware Center for Composite Materials and Kazakh-British Technical University. Prof. Güden acted as the chairman of IZTECH Material Research Center and a member of Izmir Technopark Executive Council and was the Rector of IZTECH between 2010 and 2018. He has 91 publications in the Science Citation Index journal, 15 publications in the indexed journals and has 91 publications in the conferences. Prof. Güden was awarded with Prof. Mustafa Parlar Master Thesis Award, Hüsamettin Tuğac Foundation Technology Research Award, TUBITAK Motivation Award and Elginkan Foundation Technology Award. He was also the chairman of Izmir Technology Development Region, the committee member TÜBİTAK Technology Transfer Mechanism Support Group Executive (TEMEG), the member of Higher Education Council University Industry Cooperation Committee and the member of Turkish-Russian Social Forum Education Science Committee. Dr. Güden is an editorial board member of the Defence Technology Journal of China.
