Dr. Mahmut Taş, SUNUM Analytical Services Manager will talk about textiles and sustainability on Nano Open Webinar, which will be on Zoom on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, between 11.00 and 12.00.

Dr. Mahmut Taş will talk about the Nanoskop Platform, which brings together nanotechnology services and those who want to benefit from these services under the same roof. The Nanoskop Platform aims to bring together stakeholders with nanotechnology-related device infrastructure and know-how.

About Dr. Mahmut Taş

Mahmut Taş, specialized in Materials Science and Textile Engineering, completed his undergraduate education in Textile Engineering at Süleyman Demirel University, and then pursued a master's degree in Fiber and Polymer Engineering at Bursa Technical University. Subsequently, between 2015 and 2018, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Textile Engineering at Çukurova University. In 2018, he began his doctoral studies in Materials Science and Engineering at Nottingham University with a scholarship from TÜBİTAK 2213, completing it in 2022 and returning to his homeland. His doctoral studies were supported by the Henry Royce Institute and the Faculty of Engineering at Nottingham University in the UK.

Mahmut Taş has expertise in  de-icing and anti-icing surfaces, electromagnetic shielding, carbon-based nanomaterials, technical textiles, nanofibers, nanocomposites, and solar cells. Additionally, he has contributed to the field by participating as a researcher in projects such as TÜBİTAK 1003, publishing articles in international peer-reviewed journals, and presenting papers at scientific conferences. Currently, Mahmut Taş serves as the  Analytical Services Administrator at the Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center.
