Achievements of SUNUM Researchers

Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center researchers had many achievements in 2023.

Devrim Gözüaçık, one of our part-time researchers, was awarded the TÜBİTAK Science Award for his studies in the fields of Molecular Cell Biology and Disease Biology.

Nur Mustafaoglu, one of our part-time researchers, was entitled to a total support of 1.5 Million Euros in the ERC 2023 Starting Grant Call.

Four projects, in which SUNUM researchers act as principal investigators and researchers, were entitled to support within the scope of TÜBİTAK ARDEB 2023 2nd term "1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program".

Barun Chakrabarti, full-time researcher at SUNUM, took part in the project entitled " Efficient Hydrogen/Vanadium Flow Batteries Enhanced by MXene, Nitrogen Doped Carbon Nanomaterials and Deep Eutectic Solvents" as principal investigator.

Alp Yürüm, part-time researcher at SUNUM, took part in the project entitled "Exploring the Influence of DFT-Supported Photocatalytic Radicals on the IrO2-Based OER System and Uncovering New Mechanisms" as principal investigator.

Steven Footit from Boğaziçi University and Stuart J. Lucas from SUNUM took part in the project entitled "Investigating the molecular physiology of seed priming with cold atmospheric gas plasma to break dormancy and increase seed vigour” as principal investigator and researcher, respectively.

In addition, the project entitled “Synthesis of activated carbon from cigarette butt and synthesis of high energy density Gd2O3/ZnO/AK and Ppy/ZnO/AK composites and their application as electrode material in supercapacitors”, in which Emre Erdem from Sabancı University took part as principal investigator, and Feray Bakan from SUNUM as researcher, was entitled to application without waiting for the next term.

We congratulate our researchers and wish them success in their projects.
