SUNUM researcher Dr. Serap Hayat Soytas' studies on silicon-carbon hybrid electrodes for high-capacity lithium-ion batteries have been published in Elsevier's Journal of Alloys and Compounds.

In the article titled “Silicon nanocrystals-embedded carbon nanofibers from hybrid polyacrylonitrile – TEOS precursor as high-performance lithium-ion battery anodes”, it has been shown that the homogeneous distribution of silicon and carbon, which is critical for hybrid anodes used in high-capacity lithium-ion batteries, can be achieved by electrospinning of precursor materials followed by a low-temperature aluminothermic process.

The other authors of the article are Sabanci University Faculty Member and SUNUM part-time researcher Prof. Dr. Cleva Ow-Yang and our PhD graduate Dr. Ali Ansari Hamedani.
