SUNUM researcher Assoc Prof Mustafa Kemal Bayazıt and his team have overcome a long-standing critical problem in monitoring the temperature distribution in microwave-heated spiral flow systems using the finite element method and supported the simulation results with experimental data. While this scientific milestone will help overcome the difficulties of temperature control and process optimization in microwave-flow systems, it will significantly contribute to developing new-generation reactor/microwave systems by directing research in flow chemistry/engineering.

The team's article titled "Numerical Investigation of Heat Transfer and Temperature Distribution in a Microwave-Heated Heli-Flow Reactor and Experimental Validation" has been published in the "Chemical Engineering Journal," one of the most prestigious journals in chemical engineering with a high impact factor (>15).

The article's authors are Assoc Prof Mustafa Kemal Bayazıt, Assist Prof Hatice Sinem Şaş, Qandeel Saleem, and Salman Zafar.

We congratulate the researchers for their success.
