SUNUM, İTÜ and TEMSA Skoda is collaborating in a project for improved supercapacitors to upgrade battery performance in hybrid and diesel vehicles. The project is entitled “Use of High-Performance Supercapacitors with Mesostructured Gel Electrolytes in Automotive Applications” is funded by TÜBİTAK 1702 Patent-Based Technology Transfer Support Program, (1702 Patent License 2021-2). With the TÜBİTAK 1702 support, the team will develop a new Supercapacitor technology aiming to improve battery performance in hybrid and diesel vehicles, commercially.

According to the results of the TÜBİTAK 1702 Patent-Based Technology Transfer Support Program call results, the technology entitled “Liquid Crystalline Mesophases for High Performance Energy Storage Systems” developed by our team of inventors composed of Dr. Yurdanur Türker, full-time researcher at SUNUM, Dr. Koray Bahadır Dönmez, technical specialist at SUNUM,  Prof. Dr. Seniha Güner, faculty member at İTÜ and part-time researcher at SUNUM , Prof. Dr. Nilgün Karatepe Yavuz, faculty member at İTÜ, and Mert Umut Özkaynak, PhD student at İTÜ, has been found deserving of support from TÜBİTAK. We congratulate our inventors on their achievement.
