TÜBİTAK MAM hosted a two-day workshop entitled “BD FACS CANTO II Flow Cytometry System Training” on 13–14 October 2025 at the TÜBİTAK MAM Biotechnology Research Group Labs for NanoBio4Can MSCA Cofund fellows. The workshop was supported by Ant Medikal.
The program was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of flow cytometry by combining theoretical background with hands-on experience. Participants were introduced to the principles of flow cytometry, the importance of instrument cleaning and washing procedures, voltage and compensation settings, and experiment design using the BD FACS Canto II system.
The training included practical sessions on system start-up and shutdown, washing and cleaning procedures, using CS&T beads, and adjusting experiment-specific values. By the end of the workshop, participants had gained both conceptual knowledge and practical skills in using flow cytometry instruments and designing experiments.
The training was delivered by Berk BAŞTUĞ (Ant Medikal) and Ahsen MORVA, PhD (TÜBİTAK MAM), and attended by Melike Belenli Gümüş, PhD, Ika Nurlaila, PhD, and Saif Ullah Afridi, PhD.
TÜBİTAK MAM hosted a one-day workshop entitled “Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation (QCM-D) Technology and Applications Training” on 5 November 2025 at the TÜBİTAK MAM Biotechnology Research Group Labs for NanoBio4Can MSCA Cofund fellows. The workshop was supported by Terra Lab.
The program was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of QCM-D technology by combining theoretical background with hands-on experience. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of Quartz Crystal Microbalance and the benefits of dissipation, and explored diverse application areas, including biopharma, binding affinity studies, food industry applications, cleaning profile monitoring, and battery research.
The training included an overview of sensor types and their applications, followed by a detailed demonstration of the QSense Omni system. During the practical session, attendees conducted experiments, learned the basics of QSoft software, and performed data handling and evaluation. By the end of the workshop, participants had gained both conceptual knowledge and practical skills in QCM-D technology and its applications.
The training was delivered by Shubham Jain, Ph.D. (Field Application Specialist, Biolin Scientific) and attended by Ankush Dasharath Sontakke, PhD, Nemany Abdelhamid Nemany Hanafy, PhD, Melike Belenli Gümüş, PhD, Ika Nurlaila, PhD, and Saif Ullah Afridi, PhD.
We congratulate our researcher and wish them continued success.
